Board-level CPD and population-health governance—not automatic UKPHR registration.
Online or on campus

Public-health leadership in the UK is a board, a joint strategic needs assessment, and a workforce that is tired of webinars. This MSc starts with CPD as governance: what non-executives must understand about inequalities, outbreak comms, and the limits of their role. You will not be trained as a consultant in public health through this award. Scottish health-board and local-authority interfaces sit beside UK-wide instruments so students can name which system they are in. Dual-pathway parity keeps online public-health managers on the same assessment as those who can reach Edinburgh. UKPHR, FPH, and NMC are not conferred. Marketing must say so. Capstones must show a CPD or board-development intervention with evaluation, not a generic global-health essay. Scottish territorial boards, integration joint boards, and local-authority public-health teams appear as governance settings. You will design a non-executive briefing on inequalities that a lay member can finish, and you will refuse webinar-collection as a leadership outcome. University of Brigant will not use UKPHR, FPH, or UKHSA logos. Online students are not a lesser NHS audience; they sit identity-checked assessment with campus peers. Boards still meet in winter; CPD that ignores that calendar is theatre. MSc Public Health Board CPD Leadership is taught as one award, not a list of unrelated modules. The published length is 18 months, and the credit total is 36. Students move from UK and Scottish Public Health Architecture for Non-Registrants through UK and Scottish Public Health Architecture for Non-Registrants; Boards, JSNA, and Political Accountability; UKPHR/FPH Language as Literacy not Registration; Needs Analysis beyond Happy Sheets; Adult Learning in Exhausted Workforces; Ethics, Confidentiality, and Case Material, and finish on Dual-Pathway Delivery of Health CPD. Each course has a question, a method, and a submission. In this field, students describe how people, records, and decisions move through one service, and separate cause from harm. Reading is a pathway description, an incident summary, and an information standard. The artefact a marker expects is a brief a service manager could use, with the evidence attached. The award is built so that a graduate can do the following in practice: Design board CPD that changes questions asked, not attendance lists Map UKPHR/FPH language as literacy without claiming registration Brief inequalities and outbreak comms for non-specialists Teaching assumes the student can read a source, attempt a problem before the seminar, and revise after feedback. Attendance at live seminars is part of the design. The capstone or final course must use the methods of the earlier courses; a project that ignores them does not pass. This course does not confer a licence to practise nursing, medicine, or any other clinical profession. The pages for each course name the topics that are examined. Those topics are the syllabus. A brochure line is not a substitute for them.
Thirty-six credits: UK/Scottish public-health governance, CPD design, inequalities and comms for boards, and a supervised leadership capstone. Dual pathway. Explicit non-UKPHR marketing.

| UOB741 | UK and Scottish Public Health Architecture for Non-Registrants UK and Scottish Public Health Architecture for Non-Registrants (UOB741) is a 3-credit course on MSc Public Health Board CPD Leadership, with 30 notional learning hours. By the end, students can describe how people, records, and decisions move through one service, and separate cause from harm, using UK and Scottish Public Health Architecture for Non-Registrants as the working context rather than a generic management example. The course is taught in three movements. First, students establish the terms and the decision the course is about. Second, they apply the method to a case, dataset, text, or design and compare it with a weaker alternative. Third, they revise the work after feedback and state what the conclusion cannot support. Preparation uses a pathway description, an incident summary, and an information standard. Seminar time is for the decision, not for reading the materials aloud. Assessment is a brief a service manager could use, with the evidence attached. A pass requires a clear method, evidence a marker can check, and an explicit limit. Credit is not awarded for summary alone. This course does not confer a licence to practise nursing, medicine, or any other clinical profession.

The course is taught in three movements. First, students establish the terms and the decision the course is about. Second, they apply the method to a case, dataset, text, or design and compare it with a weaker alternative. Third, they revise the work after feedback and state what the conclusion cannot support.
